Biography

Dr. Neha shah graduated from Government Medical College, Surat, Gujarat and went on to do her Post graduation in general surgery. She is dynamic laparoscopic surgeon and her specialization includes all type of Bariatric and metabolic surgeries including revision Bariatric Surgeries and all laparoscopic gastro & hernia surgeries.

She is trained in surgical gastroenterology from Govt Peripheral Hospital Chennai. Later got trained in Laparoscopy from various institutes in Chennai and abroad.

At present she is chief consultant bariatric surgeon running department of Bariatric and Metabolic surgery at Gleneagles Global Health City.

She is trained in revision Bariatric surgery and endoscopic techniques from Cleveland, Ohio USA. She has also published and presented several paper in medical journals/conferences. Dr. Neha shah is the only female Bariatric and metabolic surgeon in Tamil Nadu.

Doing Independent Basic and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeries for past 15 years and have done more than 3000 complex laparoscopic procedures and for last 7 years is into teaching and faculty for EISE, J & J, Chennai, India.

Doing Independent Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgeries for last 7 years and have done more than 500 Bariatric Procedures, including revision bariatric procedures also.

Running her own Training Institute for Laparoscopy for last 3 years where she has trained more than 300 surgeons across the globe.

• Recipient of GEM Award at Madurai ASI 2010 in recognition of performing excellent lap surgeries.
• Recipient of Best paper award at ASI Conference 2010
• Recipient of Sundaram Award for best paper at the State Conference in Pondicherry 2012
• Recipient of Travelling Fellowship Award from ASI, State Chapter in 2012
• Recipient of Award of Excellence for outstanding work in field of laparoscopy from ASI at Visakhapatnam in 2016

• Dr. Neha shah has published several books in medical field like laparoscopic hernia surgery done by Jaypee publications.
• Recently published a book worldwide called Transformation ….a book on obesity management for general public.
